Though the bi-level red-brick interior is long on romantic lighting and back-room nooks, the loud lounge music and flat-screens suggest this osteria caters more to a young-professional crowd than to couples looking for a romantic night out. The menu, too, is more extensive than a traditional osteria, with small plates, bruchette, pizza, handmade pasta, and secondi. Bold, aggressive flavors characterize the dishes; in the Pizza Brussel, with a Neapolitan-style, thin, partially-charred crust, a heavy hand marries oily, salty slices of pancetta with earthy brussels sprouts in a thoroughly pleasing union. The tender wood fire roasted chicken distinguishes itself with a bitter kick from a bed of broccoli rabe and olives.
