Profile
In Nino Gagliardi's native Neapolitan dialect, the word for hot pepper also refers to the horn-shaped good-luck charm believed to ward off evil (and, ostensibly, soggy crusts). The house pie is strewn with edible gold leaves, and the menu hedges its bets with plenty of pasta and antipasto. — Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld

Enjoyed an early dinner there with the family last Sunday. The pasta we ordered - tortelloni special & seafood scialatelli were fresh & extremely tasty. The pizzas - marinara & ricotta & spinaci were definately the best we've ever had in NY. The servers were friendly, especially with the kids. Overall the place offered a very home-like feeling. Saw the rack of lamb special being served to another table, & was blown away by the aroma & presentation - a must have for the next time we go!
A nice place to sit on a warm evening, with an an open floor plan and sidewalk seating. Our waiter made a good wine recommendation. My friend and I shared two specials: boar ragout and a smoked mozzarella and artichoke ravioli in gorgonzola cream sauce. Both dishes had the texture of a frozen meal, but they were each around $23. The gorgonzola was moldy-strong (and I normally like a pungent cheese); the boar was tough but passable. Pro: no wait. The place was half-empty on a Friday night. Con: not worth the money.
