Profile

Pie is as far removed from a neighborhood slice joint as it gets. First, there's the decor: modern, minimalist, more NoLita boutique than Do the Right Thing. Second, the pizza is oblong, resembling a tasty-looking skateboard, and toppings run the gamut from potato-ricotta to bacon-and-egg. Most distinctive, though, is the ordering procedure. You tell the counterperson how big a piece you want, she snips it off, weighs it, and charges you $7 to $16 per pound depending on the topping.

I have lived in New York all my life and have been to many many Pizza places and ordered in as well from many more. This is without question my favorite. The crust is very thin and the Fresh Mozzarella is the greatest tasting and most addictive pizza I have ever had. I highly recommend this pizza to everyone. I order from the one on Second Avenue. You must try it once and you too will be hooked.

I have had pizza deilivery from everywhere that will come to me, and when PIE is good, it's good. I am a big fan of the egplant pie - crispy crust with real mozzarella. However, PIE can be inconsistant. I can get amazing pies from them, but I can also get pies that are a bit cold with eggplant that is a bit firm. Overall, it's good on average, great on occasion.
