Housed in a tiny storefront with bright yellow walls, a handful of tables, and a lot of Western-themed ephemera, Pig'N Out dishes up ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and other barbecue mainstays. The meats tend to be on the smoky side and the barbecue sauce is tart and vinegary, rather than typically sweet. Piquant spice rubs—heavy on the cinnamon—are sometimes more potent than the pork or chicken they season. As for side orders, the mashed potatoes, served with a rich gravy and an almost candy-like chili corn bread, outshine the rather thin creamed spinach. With so little seating, the place isn't particularly convenient for those wishing to eat in, but it's an easy stop for commuters right off the A or C trains on their way home.

Everyday students enjoy a 20% discount all day long, while nonstudents benefit from Mon-Fri between 11am-4pm.
