With its coin-slot donkey ride and framed paintings of Italian coastal towns, this pizzeria is pretty standard-issue. The corner joint has been on the north end of Fifth Avenue since 1988, so while it’s hardly Dodgers-era, the Ramblin’ Root Beer label on the soda fountain sure suggests it could be. Fans of the chewy slices settle down in a windowless nook at the back. (There’s no delivery, so it’s either that or takeout.) The two-minute proximity to Southpaw and O’Connor’s Pub makes this a quick, cheap solution for hunger pangs and hangovers as long as you get there well before last call.
