The most striking aspect of Remi is its soaring space and tasteful décor. Despite a lot of Italian vocabulary on the menu, however, the cuisine here seems mostly domestic. (Much of what's on offer would seem at home on the menu of Union Square Café.) Grilled striped bass and country-style free-range chicken, for example, are well done but not exactly the exclusive product of the Emilia-Romagna district. Catering primarily to a Midtown business clientele, Remi’s service is professional, although when the restaurant is at capacity it can be imprecise.
