Profile

This venue is closed.

Rondure's heavily accented Russian owners provide a mixed bag of entertainments at this off-kilter NoLita spot. The undulating dining room doubles as an art gallery; the basement is a wine-and-beer lounge; and the second floor is a cover-charging concert venue. The food, likewise, tumbles all over the place. Entrées include a French-influenced duck a l'orange soaked in what is described as a "juicy fresh orange sauce," while a fillet of tilapia is paired with assorted Argentinean herbs. Salads are at times imaginative, as in the titillatingly titled Sex Therapy with grilled halloumi cheese and baby arugula. Others are strangely one-note: The Continental, for instance, features mandarin-marinated chicken, mandarin oranges and, you guessed it, mandarin dressing. We suggest finishing with something sweet and incorruptible, like the strawberry-stuffed crepe or chocolate fondue.

Extra

Rondure's upstairs music hall features intermittent live jazz and classical performances, with cover charges in the $10-$25 range.
