Profile

This venue is closed.

Decked out with hanging colored lights in mason jars and retro wallpaper, this thirties comfort-food spot seems like the perfect fit for the trendy residents of Cobble Hill. But Sadie’s Kitchen can’t quite decide what it wants to be—caught somewhere between a takeout shop and a counter-service café, it misses the mark on both slightly. Whether you dine in or take out one of the shop’s ten varieties of macaroni and cheese, you will be eating out of an aluminum container. For some of the offerings, like the flavor-packed Charlotte’s Mac, made with crawfish, andouille sausage, habanero jack cheese, and cornmeal bread crumbs, this concession may be worthwhile. For others, like the woefully under-seasoned Winnie’s Mac—shiitake, crimini, and oyster mushrooms, brie, and truffle cornmeal bread crumbs—you may be less inclined to shell out $10 a serving. The homemade ice cream in flavors like vanilla and stout helps redeem the café, as does the BLT on a homemade biscuit.
