This Southampton sister to restaurants in Milan and Manhattan offers more of the same—with additional seafood options in a nod to the locale. Indeed, the stand-up bar and long, narrow pasticceria (full of enticing pastries and gelato) seem plucked straight from Italy with one caveat. The clientele are weekenders and Southampton locals in seersucker or Nantucket red. Since the two small dining rooms are considerably short on character (one Milanese mural notwithstanding), you're best off sitting at a sidewalk table facing Main Street while nibbling on perennial offerings like caprese. The house favorite is the veal chop Milanese, thick and classically prepared. Fish dishes rotate between heavier grilled offerings and pan-seared fish like branzino. Throughout, the light touch of the kitchen serves all entrees well.
Recommended DishesRaw beef carpaccio, $24; risotto montecato with seafood, $24; grilled lamb chops, $41; breaded veal chop Milanese, $43
