One of the city's better Indian restaurants, and particularly useful for those attending events at Lincoln Center, Sapphire has a downtown approach to service and boasts a spiffy design scheme (the Mogul-period wooden doors and windows come from Rajasthan, and embroidered Jodhpur silk panels hang from the ceiling). The restaurant remains thankfully authentic when it comes to the food. Though most dishes are well done, including a variety of lamb offerings, anything baked in the ultra-high-temperature Tandoor oven is a sure winner.
