Profile

With two floors and 150 seats, this Italian-American restaurant aims to bring serious pizza to the Financial District in a big way. Its menu boasts gourmet pies with creative toppings in combinations that might not pass muster with purists but will certainly please those who approach pizza with a tasty-first mentality. There’s candied tangerine with Gorgonzola and chile flakes, as well as the meatier, more savory soppressata with peppers and pickled shallots. The desserts are solid, but they’re not exactly special. Instead, you’d be much better off ordering a cocktail. The head bartender worked at such prestigious restaurants as Betony and the Modern and serves creative, well-made drinks like the Pink Flamingo, with grapefruit and chamomile, and the Saint’s Tongue with Macallan 12-year Double Cask and amaro.

Recommended Dishes

Pickled pepper pizza, $25; Brussels salad, $14; octopus, $16
