Profile
With three branches of Spice and one SEA in Manhattan, this burgeoning Thai chainlet establishes a Brooklyn beachhead, challenging Planet Thailand, reigning curry king, on its own Williamsburg turf. Like the competition, this contender has two bars and a D.J.; its stylish 7,500-square-foot premises also feature a Buddha statue, a reflecting pool, and seventies-style lounge bubble chairs. — Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld

Having only been to Sea during the week, we were shocked when we entered into a dark place with woeful house music. For some reason everybody in my group decided to stay to try it out, but the music kept on getting louder. There was nothing spectacular about the food. We can't really comment on the appearance given it was so dark. The music was absolutely awful and does not suit Williamsburg at all. Remembering, this is a nabe where you can hear indie rock in the pharmacy! It was just an awful experience. If you want your ear rattled by super bad techno house awful music while you eat noodles in total darkness then have fun! Enjoy! I really don't know what all these good reviews are talking about. The people on the table next to us had to use their iphones to read their menus. Ridiculous!
Sea is a hip restaurant. Not recommended for a first date due to the loud music. It's often packed so get there early or make reservations! The front of the restaurant is a bar crowded with many people. The entrance of this restaurant is actually nice, with a Buddha statue. The service is pretty fast and the waiters / waitress are nice.
