If you dig sliders, shakes, cannolis, or any combo thereof, Slide is for you. This sleek West Village burger lounge is designed for happy hour and late-night nibbles. The back patio, with its rock formations and water elements, is a sweet spot in warmer months, especially for brunch. Three is the theme at Slide. Most food is served in trios on long wooden boards with small rounded indentations to house appetizers, sliders, and “not-sliders.” The slider selection is notable—including grilled cheese with tomato soup on the cheap end, and Mardi Gras crawfish sliders for deeper pockets. The Slide classic (a burger with Manchego cheese, plum tomato, remoulade, and caramelized onions) is solid, but the standouts are the chicken and waffle and the smoked duck on a Parmesan bun. The cannoli flights of three are provided by Stuffed Artisan Cannoli and vary daily. Slide's best dessert option is their milkshakes, which can be spiked. The salted dulce de leche is rich and creamy, and the "hot" chocolate shakes spiked with sombre mezcal are devilishly good.Recommended Dishes
