Smith Canteen is a spinoff coffee bar and takeout
shop from Southern-inspired Brooklyn restaurant Seersucker. The fourteen-seat location, situated in a
turn-of-the-twentieth-century pharmacy with original shelving and tile
floor intact, absorbs Seersucker’s breakfast and lunch business,
with Counter Culture Coffee drinks and house-baked
pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches. Items
listed on the full-wall chalkboard menu might include a Long Island duck
confit bánh mì and roasted turkey on an “everything” croissant; the
“Greenmarket Menu” section showcases ingredients procured from the
Sunday farmers' market across the street.

The best that the city’s restaurants have to offer:
bar food, dumplings, soft serve, tongue, and more.
We live in a city full of small cheap-eats miracles,
including pork buns, Asian hipster grub, and pizza.
