Attractive presentation and innovative variations on traditional Indian cuisine distinguish what was formerly the all-vegetarian Tiffin. Not to be found in any other restaurant are the irresistible Mumbai crêpes, which are made with chickpeas and corn, filled with cream cheese, and sprinkled with mango sauce. Delicious banarsi samosas are served on a bed of greens and filled with pomegranate seeds and feta cheese. Entrees range from the traditional chicken tikka masala to the more adventurous kashmiri murgh, cooked with milk, cashews, green cardamom, and other unusual spices. Local Wall Street workers can benefit from the Monday-Friday $9.99 lunch buffet, but this place is well worth a special trip downtown no matter where you’re coming from.
