Profile
Warm, stylish Stone Park Café offers further proof that Park Slope is wearing its crown as borough restaurant champ with rakish aplomb. The clean lines of this restaurant's cuisine match the graceful sway of the room with its exposed brick, shiny wood floors, mint colored walls, fancy sconces and garage-sized windows. Stone Park Café delivers concentrated pleasures—dishes snagged on a global safari— that move with the seasons. Standbys are tweaked just enough to make them interesting: Pan seared bluefish cakes have a mellower flavor than its crab brethren and a steak sandwich tastes almost braised and comes on flat bread rather than the standard wrestle-ready long roll. This is the kind of place every neighborhood should have: good for a hotsy-totsy date, a low-key business dinner, a birthday celebration with friends or just a night away from the home stove.
Recommended DishesPan-seared bluefish cakes, $12; chocolate brioche pudding, $9
