With hanging vinyl signs, stacked crates, and a white-box interior, the space isn’t much to look. But Stoop Juice isn’t your everyday smoothie place. Its tagline (“Authentic Healthy Sustainable”) suggests a philosophy promoting an approach to life that’s more than just adding protein powders, energy boosters, and the occasional hemp seed. The credo manifests in multiple ways. A homegrown podcast extending beyond dietary topics to self-empowerment and goal-planning; a tiny library of wellness books (including health-minded picture books for kids); and, naturally enough, an extensive menu of juices that are all vegan, all organic, and never skimp on the ginger. Many of the ingredients — roots, bananas, wheatgrass — spill out into the customer area, which also houses a shelving unit packed with snacks, some quite unique, like Shpickles (a Brooklyn company’s pickled jalapeño peppers, string beans, etc.) and a surprisingly solid kale chocolate chip cookie that’s also made locally.

Beyond the Straw

It’s not just smoothies and juices being made here. There’s also an açai bowl with banana, blueberries, strawberries, and granola.
