Profile

This venue is closed.

Western chefs have co-opted Japanese ingredients and flavors for years, but culinary appropriation goes both ways. Sui's sushi rolls come wrapped in prosciutto, slathered with Thai peanut sauce, and drizzled with salsa. The eclectic menu doesn’t stop there: Beyond the waterfall and the fish tanks, the kitchen turns out buffalo carpaccio with foie gras and a teapot for two of seafood-miso soup.

I been to Sui couple of times. Everytime I went there, there are some new welcome suprises. It is definite one of the better Sushi place in the city. The new lounge area looks great and more inviting. Go there and try their food before the word gets out. Make sure to save some room for their new desserts. My personal favor is the Malay Pancake.

the rice on the rolls was overcooked and not seasoned enough. too much rice on the rolls and not evenly distributed. the sashimi had very little flavor. I hope they can improve. the neighborhood desperately needs a Japanese restaurant like Sushi Yasuda.
