This lively East Village fixture was serving classic pub grub like shepherd's pie and fish and chips long before anyone thought of British comfort food as trendy. Cozy up in front of the fireplace for full effect.

Ate here a while back, just ordered salads nothing fancy, but the menu looked pretty good and they seemed to have quite a few options. they have a number of beers on tap, and the scene is always lively but not overly packed which is nice, gives you a little elbow room. food was tasty, not a terrible experience, a good place to just hang out.
