This place opened after much anticipation in the old Empire Diner space, and while the surroundings are as cool as ever, the upscale-diner menu disappoints. The burger on a recent visit was overdone despite requests for medium-rare, and almost inedibly dry. Lobster pasta fared better, a nicely briny tangle of noodles with tomatoes and crustacean chunks, though the latter were overcooked too. The addition of farro to a green salad added welcome texture, but the leaves themselves were somewhat overdressed; a chicken sesame salad, though promising-sounding, proved an unappealing inert-looking pile of cabbage in a mayonaisey dressing, with chunks of chicken breast and a few sesame seeds. At least the place got the burrata right – though not the best in the city, it hit all the correct creamy notes. Come here for the attractive sidewalk seating area, if you must, but order carefully.
