You can step back in time to Antebellum New York in this beautiful Gramercy 1854 townhouse where quaintness exudes from every corner, starting with greenery-surrounded sidewalk tables then on to a fireplace-warmed parlor and an intimate, second-story dining room marked by skylights, portholes, and a gorgeous crescent window. Two bars offering fifteen wines by share-friendly quartinos drive home the “quintessential date place” ambiance. Some of the dishes are as beautifully adorned as the space, like a tender seared loin of lamb served on a tabbouleh salad to soak up hints of apricot, cumin, harissa, and mint, and a lobster club with pancetta and a touch of tarragon. Order appropriately, bring the right mate, and you’re sure to score here.
Recommended DishesSeared loin of lamb, $24; lobster club, $24
