If the idea of eating in a proper restaurant on the second floor of a supermarket seems odd to you, take heart. Tall windows, brick walls, and high ceilings distract you from the fact that you're eating directly above Fairway's maddening check-out lines. Perhaps the best bet is the Fairway burger, nicely cooked to medium rare, which comes on a (untoasted) brioche bun and with exemplary fries. The fish is of the same quality as the seafood downstairs: good but not great.
