The Shrimp Box (formerly Tito Puente's) sports a huge menu offering Latin dishes like empanadas, pasteles and crisp plantains, along with North American BBQ, filet mignon, New England clam chowder and, of course, heaping plates of seafood. The Yucatan snapper has a mild, lightly browned white flesh, enlivened by a not-too-buttery lemon sauce with a hint of red pepper, and the pleasing fried seafood combo overflows with shrimp, mussels, clams, sole and, when in season, soft shell crab. The restaurant's biggest drawback: There's not even a peep of the water available, a tough thing to accomplish on the narrow island.
