Nero co-owner Gino Piscopo, along with partners Lauren Brooks and Eric Wines, appointed this nouveau-Italian spot with trendy trimmings (whitewashed exposed brick and beams, hanging Edison bulbs, and flickering candles) and experimental Neapolitan chef Giuliano Matarese's interpretations of Neapolitan street food. Fusion elements are peppered throughout the menu. Fried ravioli filled with black pepper mingles with ricotta and salami. A bright tomato sauce over whole-wheat spaghetti is beefed up with skirt steak. The predominately Italian wine list offers many organic selections, mostly from small producers.
