Profile

Above the craft taps at this subway-themed gastropub, the name Trestle is written next to the local Astoria subway lines’ logos. The ceilings are modeled to resemble an above-ground train, like the one three blocks from here. And in the bathroom, you can powder your nose to the tune of the classic MTA recording: “Stand clear of the closing doors, please.” Luckily there’s also grub, with a heavy focus on seafood trucked in to Queens from Montauk. So, in addition to classic pub fare — salads; New York strip; and the Trestle burger, a mammoth-size piece of meat, heavy on garnishes — you also have market-priced fish and chips, stuffed clams casino, and Prince Edward Island mussels. It beats waiting for the next train.
