It’s possible you’ll spot Bobby or one of his actor buddies at De Niro’s downtown joint, but you’re likelier to spot platoons of out-of-towners, themselves hoping to spot Bobby. Large, colorful paintings by De Niro’s dad adorn the brick walls, and the center bar feels pleasantly Cheers-like. The 1,800-bottle wine list is impressive, though the food is nothing mind-blowing (especially given the prices). Consider it for a business lunch or for dinner with your parents next time they’re in town, since the green trim and trophy/plaque collection at the coat check create something of a country-club feel. — Christina Nunez

Came here with a bunch of my friends for my birthday back in may. We had an awsome time, we had a big table in the back room, and were constantly serviced by a group of waiters. I had the dry aged steak for my dinner, and it was absolutely delicious. great wine selection and amazing desserts. i would definately recommend it.
Made reservations the day of (Saturday night, even) and arrived on time with only a five-ten minute wait for a "killer" table (huge, round, leather cushioned seats) with a view of everything and everybody. No, we did NOT expect to see any of the famed owners of this establishment (they would get mobbed by those who would not have the courtesy to let them be), but we had heard that Mr. DeNiro had put a lot into the neighborhood, and we felt a visit was due. Our waitress was excellent and knew everything, including dietary health ingredients for cardio and info on the history of the place. Wines were exceptional. The food selections were, in fact, mediocre and over-priced. I think we paid for the name and the fame. Note: An actor of much less caliber and stature WAS at the table next to us, drunk, with loud, unbelievable profanity coming out that rivaled a hockey game. He should have been tossed, and they knew it. However, do see the genuine autographed cinema posters of Mr. DeNiros films in the hall of the lower level where you would least expect them! I considered armed robbery for a moment!
