The decor at Ubol's kitchen may be minimal (orange walls and a Buddha altar), but the kitchen serves up authentic and inspired Thai recipes worthy of a trip to Queens. With nearly 100 dishes (including an extensive selection of vegetarian options), forego the usual pad Thai and try something new. Light up the table with the popular Flaming Chicken or sample one of the house specialties like the Spicy Pork in the Garden, served with chili, garlic, and kaffir lime leaves. The curries are excellent (spiced to your preference) and come in thirteen varieties of shrimp, squid, pork, beef, chicken, tofu or vegetables. The owners say this is where "Thai food stays Thai" and one visit should prove that a wise decision has been made—both on their part and yours. There's even free parking to sweeten the deal.
Recommended DishesSpicy Pork in the Garden, $11.95; flaming chicken, $7.95; red curry with chicken, $7.95
