Vintage Irving shares an address and a kitchen with Sidebar, the lofty sports bar that replaced Link. But unlike Sidebar—and owner Michael Sinensky’s other sudsy ventures, including Village Pourhouse—Vintage Irving has an intimate, wine-bar feel and a small-plates focus. Chef Jason Bunin, late of Knickerbocker Bar & Grill, doles out cured meats and imported cheeses, plus dishes like arancine with green-tomato compote, a salad of ham-wrapped romaine hearts with brandade croquettes and cilantro-caper vinaigrette, and fresh-fig tempura. There’s also a rotating selection of craft beers and European wines, and a planned monthly guest-chef demo series. — Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld
There are few places you are allowed to order a random array of delicious, small plates for a good value but I recently found one. The restaurant is warm and relaxing, playing Johnny Cash, service is wonderful and the food, top notch. The sirloin with rosemary/asiago fries was superb...crusty on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside and there is no better combination than rosemary and potatoes. Oysters were the special of the night, with a champagne vinaigrette, also outstanding. The chocolate souffle is also not to be missed...the perfect dessert with warm souffle, extra chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream. And to wash it all down, crisp and light white peach sangria.
The Thrillest posted a list on Vintage Irving and it sounded awesome so I checked it out. I urge you to do the same! The atmosphere is upscale and classy with a wine selection that will blow your mind. The food is served tapa style and allows you to try so many different dishes (get the Duck Prosciutto). And if your into absinthe, this is yourplace
And they do events like 20 wines for $20? Really? This is amazing! They have an amazing wine list so I will be checking this one out for sure on 4/27/09.
