At first glance, Virage looks and feels like a small French bistro—it has an outdoor patio, tiled floor, a mirror-backed bar, large gilded mirrors and turn-of-century posters on interior brick walls. But Virage’s menu, which includes staples like croque monsieurs and steak frites, also veers into international territory with classic Italian pasta dishes and warm Middle Eastern meat platters. Simply prepared items—garlicky hummus, burgers, and grilled chicken sandwiches on toasted ciabatta—prove the most delicious. Brunch is popular, thanks to the delicious Merguez sausage frittata and brioche French toast. The wine list is reasonably priced; on offer are nearly 30 reds and as many whites. Cocktails include spiked pink lemonade and margaritas.
