What this family-run café lacks in ambience, it makes up for in the tasty authenticity of its Middle Eastern dishes. Skip the safety of hummos and falafel in favor of less familiar vegetarian specialties, like mouhamarah, a mixture made of red peppers, ground walnuts, olive oil and spices. Just don't overlook Syrian mainstays such as a tongue-tingling Babaghanooj, or the finely chopped Fatoush salad, which purportedly helped one devoted patron lose 45 pounds!
NoteReservations are only accepted for parties of 6 or more.
Recommended DishesVegetarian platter, $16; fatoush, $7.50; baked kibbeh, $11
