Water's Edge has matrimony covered. The restaurant's stunning Queens-side view of Manhattan has been the backdrop for many a proposal, while the huge private party space has hosted countless wedding ceremonies. The focus is on seafood, with additional menu space reserved for local farm favorites like Hudson Valley foie gras and Long Island duck. Though the decor is dated with its Reagan-era overabundance of brass, clubby wood, and pink fabric, the cuisine is decidedly of-the-moment. Among the expertly prepared dishes, the bronzini is the star: a tender, de-boned Mediterranean sea bass. Though the food doesn't always transcend the immediate surroundings, shortcomings are easily lost in the million-dollar view.
River TaxiA complimentary ferry leaves from 35th St.-East River Tue-Sat every hour on the hour from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. The ferry departs the restaurant every hour on the three-quarter hour from 6:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
