You probably haven't wandered in here since sophomore year at NYU, but don't worry: nothing's changed. Yaffa's still "open all nite," as the mural outside puts it. Inside, you'll find the same leopard and zebra prints on the booths and tables, the same bunches of plastic grapes and Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling, the same dim, warm atmosphere welcoming everyone from late-night Goth kids to early-afternoon breakfasters (just $5.95 for two eggs, home fries, pita bread, coffee, juice). Out back, the enormous patio beckons. — Matt Gross

I was just introduced to this place a few months ago, and I'm kicking myself for not finding it sooner. The food is amazing (although I have to agree with Joannab on the spinich crepe, unless you LOVE spinich, it's really the only thing in there).
To try- Spinich Ravioli, Fettucini, the entire dessert menu and ANYTHING with the carrot dressing...you know what? Just drink the stuff, it's that good.
The decor is fun and funky, and may throw you off at first glance, as it doesn't do the place justice, but if its a nice night, sit out back. The patio is amazing - large enough for a big party, but intimate enough that you can hear eachother talk.
Service - we've had some amazing waiters (including mustache man...you know who you are, we love you) and they make the place jump.
As far as value goes - I've gone with groups of 5 or 6, had apps and pitchers of sangria and not topped $150. Its fantastic.
GO THERE NOW.
The atmosphere is wonderful. I would recommend going for a drink BUT don't touch the food I ordered the spinach crepes. It was easily the worst thing I've eaten in NYC. Besides the crepe being completely tasteless and soggy, the filling tasted & looked like someone just microwaved some frozen spinach and called it a day.
