This glorified kiosk in Rockefeller CenterÂ’s subterranean food court operates first and foremost with a hectic lunch crowd in mind. Orders can be placed online; takeout is pretty much expected (there are only four seats). But convenience comes at a price. Hand rolls made throughout the day tend to be prepackaged even if the portions successfully push to a two-bites-plus size. Hot items fare better. The eponymous Yummy Box packs a load of meat and a heap of white rice into a single container alongside salad, shumai, edamame, and a sushi roll. (Miso soupÂ’s on the side.) Beyond sushi and noodles, the small storefront offers a small variety of popular Japanese snacks, from chocolate-covered Pocky sticks to seaweed-wrapped rice crackers. Whether you choose to buy a hat or T-shirt bearing the company logo probably has more to do with you finding sushi yummy than you liking Yummy Sushi.
Create Your Own RollFor those who want a rainbow roll with a little less rainbow, the restaurant offers fully customized rolls. Simply call ahead with your specifications.
