Profile

This venue is closed.

Zipi Zape (named for the Spanish comic-strip twins) displays its traditional Spanish tapas in the sort of refrigerated cases you see in sushi bars; here, they house tuna-stuffed piquillo peppers, boquerones with caper berries, and seafood salad, all of which can be ordered individually or in “tasting menus” of five or ten.

Happy Hour

Daily, 5 p.m.–7 p.m., two for one drinks

Do not waste your time around Williamsburg, or the rest of NYC for that matter. This is excellent food without attitude. Things to sample: the octopus, the montaditos, the black squid ink paella. Executive Chef Diego Gonzolez's skill and execution is superb.

This place is small and decorated with cartoons, but the food is serious and authentic. Be prepared for allioli, wine, and garlic flavors in everything. I enjoyed it, but it certainly wasn't the best Spanish food I've had. Prices are excellent. Great place to relax outdoors and soak in Williamsburg.
