Profile
The menu here is tough to make out mainly because there are scraps of paper inserted all over the place—up the sides, on the back, each one noting a special. Haphazard as this all sounds (and that goes for the service at times, too), there is nothing scattered about the preparation of those off-the-list items. If you want to settle for just another sashimi deluxe, fine. But why not go for a crunchy, sprightly, and original tempura lobster roll, or a velvety American tataki tuna veiled in three different kinds of roe? The restaurant's tag line used to be "It's Japanese!" and it sounded kind of silly. Once you eat here, you realize it isn't.
