Named after the multipurpose painter’s tool, this cavernous studio-boutique is located in a former Billyburg steel factory that dates back to the nineteenth century. The larger back is a production area for member designers, while the front houses a shop that sells a portion of their work to the public. Their creations—anything from knits to jewelry—are surefire conversation starters. Founder Norman Rabinovich also brings in other products that work well with the collective’s aesthetic, such as Dutch felt bags by Vlieger and Vandam that have spooky, realistic “bulges” in the shapes of knives and guns.Sales
