Colorful clogs by Hoyt & Bond, 8a’s in-house label, brighten the floor at this tiny, light-filled Boerum Hill boutique. Owners Elizabeth Beer and Brian Janusiak, who also run Project 8 in Chinatown and an art gallery in Berlin, opened the Swedish clog store in 2006. Handmade in Minnesota using wooden bottoms from Sweden, the orthopedic shoes are popular among chefs, hairstylists, and other professionals who spend the workday on their feet. Shoppers can choose from low, medium, or high heel heights and customize the color and style of the shoe’s leather upper. Mint, fuchsia, metallic gold, and black are among the 85 color choices, and styles range from mary jane to T-strap to shearling-lined boot. The finished product arrives within two to three weeks of ordering.
