Like so much of the East Village in recent years, Healthfully Organic Market is clean, bright, well-organized, and orderly—the very model of the modern and efficient health food store, even if it does lack the charm of its hectic, patchouli-scented antecedents. Especially big on health and beauty aids from suppliers like Weleda and Aubrey, and stocking complete lines of many brands of vitamins, minerals, sports supplements, and homeopathic curatives—including Bach and other high-end favorites—Healthfully puts as much energy into capsules as they do into the food they carry. But customers who bypass the supplements in this tidy shop will discover plenty of organic grocery essentials in the form of cereals, crackers, soups, sauces, snacks, juices, and grains, along with frozen organic and vegan-friendly heat-and-eat dishes, fresh pre-made sandwiches, and wraps plump with tuna and chicken spreads and tofu in the form of imitation egg. The organic produce section is modest but decent, and a fresh juice bar also offers coffee, smoothies, and protein shakes. — Jack Robertiello
