For a little space, this cozy, family-run toy store is surprisingly big on inventory; it carries more than 1,000 toys and playtime accessories, from contemporary to classic and European, all smartly divided into kid-friendly sections. The back wall is loaded with toys to make Junior into a culinary master, while adjacent princess costumes are ready for fantasy play. For artsy youngsters, the do-it-yourself section has simple spin art kits and harder to manipulate pottery wheels. Artistically inclined parents can get their fix by hand-painting furniture or custom-designing a fabric-covered chair. There are plenty of puzzles, too, both easy, brightly colored wooden versions and more complex multi-piece puzzles for older kids. The pudgy baby dolls on display will make both little girls and moms want to reach out and touch. Free gift wrapping is available. — Susan Avery
