This minimalist sibling label to Y-3 and adidas Originals offers eco-chic designs incorporating organic cotton, soybean fiber, bamboo, and water-resistant nylon. The first SLVR boutique was unveiled during fall Fashion Week 2009, a spare space modeling black-tile floors, white walls, and a cluster of clear tubular lights overhead. The moderately priced black, white, and blue apparel is split between women’s and menswear. The women’s side includes tanks with a cinched drawstring waist, asymmetrical jackets, ribbed cardigan dresses, and voluminous cotton-poplin parkas, while the men’s side features striped cotton polos, shiny polyester jackets, and nylon skate shorts. Sporty accessories like cotton beach totes, clip-on change purses, and simple black, white, and khaki caps fill shelves along the back wall. The line’s key looks each tout a waste-conscious concept: The draping women’s Zero Waste Tee is made of one swath of fabric stitched with a single seam, and the “7 Piece Shoe” simplifies the 25-plus parts that make up a standard sneaker. — Lauren Murrow
