Ever since this store opened during 2011’s Fashion’s Night Out, two bunnies have been hopping among the mannequins in the window. But the quirkiness at this chic and deceivingly small Soho shop belies the far-reaching power of the relatively young clothing line. Alexander Berardi, a former Kenneth Cole intern who began his career when barely in his twenties, delved into ready-to-wear after receiving a standing ovation at his New York 2011 Fashion Week showing, and he and his co-founder and co-designer Christopher Kulukundis have custom-designed red-carpet gowns for the likes of Jane Krakowski. Taking cues from his childhood memories of sailing and boarding school, Berardi brings a clean, nautical glamour to his garments, whose simple, elegant lines have been worn by Emma Stone and Kim Kardashian. In addition to a wide-ranging line of day and eveningwear, the shop carries jewelry and handbag collaborations with Berardi from two other designers, Kristy Lin and Jessica Jensen.
