Designer Alex Eagleton is a veteran of the Brooklyn arts scene, having pulled together a group of graphic designers, fabric artists, and musicians to exhibit in the Williamsburg art space, the Insest Gallery. Now he brings some of the same people—and the same ultra-contemporary sensibility—to his menswear store in Boerum Hill. In a small, dark room with a single rack and mirror, Eagleton offers an exclusive mix of high-end, modern, casual clothing. In addition to microbial-patterned hoodies from London-based designer Karolina Kling’s Viral Collection and giant cartoon shirts from Finn Daniel Palillo, the shop sells limited-edition cashmere-blended T-shirts from Eagleton's own thesamenicepeople label. The ever-inventive Eagleton and his crew continually spice things up with new accessories and ephemera, so a visit could also net a scarf, pair of shoes, fragrance, and recommendation for the latest album from a hot local band.
