This small menswear store on a quiet block of Orchard Street offers exclusively British clothing, like rock and roll-inspired suits from designer Sir Tom Baker, knitwear from Bolongaro Trevor, and t-shirts from A Child Of The Jago. Umbrellas by London Undercover feature witty visual takes on traditions like the “English breakfast” and “fish and chips.” Much of the stock is one-of-a-kind, so once your size is gone, it’s gone. In addition to the clothing, the antiques on the wooden shelves lining the shop’s black walls and the vintage jewelry in the vitrine table near the back are all for sale. The store’s name is both a reference to the olden cry of scrap men collecting metal with a horse and cart, and a nod to the owner’s family scrap metal business, founded in 1872.
