There are plebian, prosaic pet stores and then there is Aquatic Creations. This innovative, high end venture was opened in 2002 by Sean Gerena, who started as a New York Aquarium intern then built his reputation through private consultations for the Beastie Boys and Bombay Sapphire. Linked to the worlds of art and entertainment, Gerena looked after Damien Hirst's fish tank installations at Gagosian Gallery. Aquatic Creations supplies film sets and photo shoots with custom tanks and water features; if you want a humongous, one-of-a-kind aquarium—and the human expertise to maintain it—Aquatic Creations has plenty to offer. Yet fish remain the big attraction, with mesmerizing, gigantic 300-400 gallon displays of exotic sea creatures and an indoor pond set into the floor near the entrance. — Jeannie Rosenfeld

They really care about the creatures and their customers
What a great shop, clearly a work of love for the hobby and the inhabitants. The staff is very knowledgable and makes a sincere effort to inform their clientele on how to be successful aquarists! Parents, children and neighbors stop by to visit their local aquarium!
The store caters to novice and experienced alike.
They install and maintain aquariums, provide prop rentals and carry a broad selection of corals, marine invertebrates and salt and freshwater fish.
It is a great place to visit. Bring a cup of coffee, sink into a couch, listen to good music and enjoy the awesome scenery.
Aquatic Creations is one of my favorite places in Williamsburg the huge "cube" in the middle of the shop is absolutely amazing and the different syles of aquariums with differnt habitats makes this place almost more of an aquarium then a fish shop. I bring my 5 yeqar old nephew all the time and he loves it. The staff is super friendly and super knowledgeable one of the owners worked at an aquarium so he knows all bout the different fish and habitats. lots of fun and a definite must see when your showing friends Williamsburg
