Located in a shopping pavilion near the Goldman Sachs building in Battery Park, this Artsee outpost, the third that’s been opened in New York since 2003, is an eyeglasses store that specializes in handmade frames. With asymmetrical wooden light fixtures and a display of art on the walls that is shifted out every month, the room appears more like a gallery than a retail space, and this feeling is compounded by the fact that, of the 500 frames they have in stock, only a handful are ever actually on display. Brands carried include Oliver Goldsmith and Face à Face; some frames are designed in-house and custom-made frames are also available. — Taylor Berman
