Owner Isaac Kosman moved his used bookshop from Greenwich Village to this more intimate Cobble Hill space in September 2008. The store’s small-town feel and focus on academic titles—especially its robust philosophy and history sections—has stayed the same, however now $3 paperbacks and popular new releases are more readily available. Catering to a local audience of families and foodies, the store also stocks up on the The Joy of Cooking and a bevy of other cookbooks. Since all of Atlantic’s titles are used, however, the selection is subject to the whims of the vendors, who range from neighborhood residents looking to sell a one-off old book to collectors unloading their expansive libraries. The store’s racks also include rare antique finds, like Edward Coke’s First Part of the Institutes of the Laws of England from 1860 ($500).
