The original outpost of the popular citywide cupcake emporium is little more than a shop window looking out onto a bustling Soho street. Although the address indicates Broadway, the tiny storefront is actually located on Spring Street, with a window manned by a lone staffer who takes orders from the customers who line up outside. The tiny cupcakes, which are roughly the size of a quarter, come in a variety of seasonally shifting flavors like chocolate-chip pancake, peanut butter and jelly, and s’mores—the perennial best seller is the red velvet, followed closely by the peanut butter cup. Because the store is so tiny, the cupcakes are made off-site at a nearby bakery and brought to this location throughout the day, ensuring they remain as fresh as they look.
