Profile
Feinman custom-makes fun, feminine hats like her retro film noir hat and her cocktail hat with a face veil. We like the twenties leather-appliqué cloche.

Very helpful when it comes to selling you an item. But when it turns your girlfriend's neck a dark green, they could care less. I realize only the cheapest of metals will do this, and I wasn't expecting a refund or anything, only stopped in to inform them as to the poor materials used in some of their pieces. With a blank-eyed and mouth-breathing expression, I was informed that "Well I'm not going to do anything about this. Only some people's skin do that. I don't have those anymore, I don't know what you want me to do." (verbatim). What I want her to do...Hmmm, perhaps a retailer shouldn't have to ask this question, perhaps a retailer ought to know at least how to take customer observation and speak with them. How about acknowledgement? Oh, and yes, sometimes people's skin will turn green, but only with cheap metal that ALWAYS will discolor. Anyway, I'm just used to better service.
I don't know why the last review was so negative (perhaps Barbara had a bad day?), but I randomly dropped in with my mom recently. We weren't expecting much at all and were pleasantly surprised. Barbara, the owner, was fantastic, helpful with her suggetions (she has a great sense of fashion tailored toward the individual) and very friendly. Her hats are handmade on site and for a tiny store, there's a great selection. She also has a few hats which are more affordable (more around $50 instead of the couple hundred which she charges for her own hats). Although it does tend to be a pricey store, for the craftmanship and beauty, I'd say it's worth it for a special occasion or special someone. Also, there are some more affordable items like I mentioned previously.
