In its move from the recesses of Williamsburg's mini-mall to the corner location recently vacated by Clovis Press bookstore, Bedford Cheese Shop gains street access, two picture windows, and slightly larger premises—the better to display its exquisitely pungent wares. Meticulously kept, freely sampled, and wittily described on price placards, cheese is only part of the shop's success. There's also the expertly curated collection of local-food finds, from New York State maple syrup to Pastosa mozzarella made in a neighborhood garage. New to this location are a cheese plate of the day and a sandwich of the day, like Paul Bertolli's Fra' Mani soppressata with paprika-rubbed Ossau-Iraty and shallot-endive confit. — Robin Raisfeld and Rob Patronite
what is the deal with people hating on the bcs. this place is awesome. great cheese, friendly staff and as massive selection of fine groceries. maybe all the people who complain about bad service should work a retail job once in their life and realize that you cant please all the people all the time. on that note, sure you COULD buy you cheese from tops a huge grocery store, or you could support a small local business. you decide maybe we should try to get a wal-mart in brooklyn cause then we could get everything on the cheap and we all know how friendlty their staff is. ever see those commercials wal-mart staff just smiles and roll those prices back. haters if you cant stay out just try to refrain from posting your negativity about of my fave stores.
I like the Bedford Cheese Shop.
I've always had a good experience there. But as usual in life and art everybody brings their experiences and/or baggage to the table.
I'm in love with the Red Head Girl With Blue Eyes. ( Coincidently, I saw her tonight at Rye )
Anyway, If I was in a band I would write a song for the Bedford Cheese Shop Girl
And then I would go buy some cheese at the Bedford Cheese Shop
