It's almost as though Young Lee, the jewelry-obsessed owner of this lemon-hued shop specializing in costume baubles, has scooped up the best of the Canal Street's stalls and neatly arranged them in her airy boutique. Customers are given a small, silk-lined straw basket for corralling their selections, which tend to be spangled essentials worthy of their next girls' night out. Though some of the inventory borders on gaudy (foot-long rhinestone necklaces shaped like mens ties, twisted metal hoop earrings measuring several inches across), careful perusal will turn up playful, wearable pieces like colorful head scarves and oversize knockoff D&G sunglasses. Totes, evening clutches, and jeweled hair accessories are also on offer, but the teens and twenty-somethings are mostly here for earrings and necklaces—fashioned from wood, plastic, feathers, or, most likely, crystals—and surprisingly stylish hats, vinyl newsboy caps, plaid cotton fedoras, and colorful cowboy-style toppers.
